· REAR COVER: The “Sacred Cow” is photographed earlier that same day on train 3305, a morning outward Lowell train, pictured here at Wilmington (the equipment for 3305 turned at Lowell and became 3112). As can be seen at the platform, the 1140 used to contain an RPO section in addition to baggage space in its 78-foot carbody, and could usually be found pulling a couple of cars. This unique piece of equipment is shown during its last year of service.
